Lessons from nine rover generations at ARES Project

Back to list

Our members built nine generations of rovers over four years in the student team ARES Project, and competed with real hardware in the finals of international competitions. Software, electronics, mechanism and thermal are all covered in house, so we can build and test both the computers and the robots ourselves.

Operating on loose, uneven terrain, together with the Isaac Lab reinforcement-learning environment and ROS and Gazebo digital twins, is where our current work starts from.
